Right now I'm tiring to think of the best way to keep my family and friends updated on the baby stuff. My sister Michelle started a blog and I really think she is better at writing on her blog about whats going on in her life then talking on the phone. I also love to hear about my nephew Adam and to see pictures of him on the blog and facebook because I only get to see him a few times a year in person. So, I would like to do this because I think other people, my sisters and family share the same interest. I'm probably not as good as a writer as Michelle is but if I keep working on it I will get better.
Here are a couple of interesting things:
- Work got this Shellac kit which I think is awesome. Yesterday, I got to paint my nails and its the coolest thing ever. I really like my natural nails so I would never want to do anything to compromise them but this stuff is awesome. Its a soft gel that is set by a UV light that drys instantly. The product says it wont chip or smudge or wear off at the tip because it's not paint its a soft gel that covers your nails. It feels so natural and there is no additional plastic or unnatural material on your nail. So, to give it a true test I painted my nails with a french manicure. A french manicure on a natural nail only lasts a few days because the tip has white on it and it will ware and smudge off because of the oil in your nail and the natural ware and tare at the end of the nail. Also, the best part of this product is that it drys instantly. I'm obsessed with french manicures but I'm never able to do them because with normal polish you nails never dry but with this I was able to complete one hand and instantly switch the the other hand with out smudging or ruining what I just did. It was really amazing. This product is still for professionals only so if you want to get it done you would have to go to a salon. I'm also testing it out because I want John to buy it for me for my birthday. I will keep you posted on the results.
- I just started the third trimester of my pregnancy. So, I'm going to go into the doctor more often now. I went in yesterday for a gestational diabetes test. I had to drink some nasty sugary juice and get a larger then average needle stuck in my arm but luckily the nurse at Dr. Clint's office is really good at blood work. Its nice to go in and not have to worry about the needle. Everyone always asks about how your feeling which I don't mind their tiring to be nice but I have nothing nice to say back. I'm not the type of person who likes to carry any extra weight or likes to deal with changes in my skin. I normally have great skin but during the second trimester I broke out in this horrible rash and ever since I have had severely dry skin. Is gross because I cant shower like a normal person anymore and I have to oil up every day. Lotion doesn't do its job for me like it used too. The other thing is everyone is like get your rest now because when the baby comes its going to be much different. Yes, I get it. Its funny how everyone thinks their an expert about this. I rather take care of a baby then be pregnant. I have done it before and I'm looking forward to a normal body and to be able to sleep like a human again after the baby is out. :-) So, we all have different experiences and different opinions on whats better. I love it when I get "the look" from some friends who have very small families and this is the first baby that they ever have taken care of in their entire life and they act like they got all of this experience. HA HA HA! Some times I would like to say "Shut up you don't know better" but its not very nice so I don't say anything. Here is some pictures of Baby V at 20 weeks.
- John keeps giving me updates on his job. He is a contractor so he is always dealing with changes in his job and constantly having new contracts and new positions. He is doing well with work. He is a little nervous because his next contract is up in two weeks and he has to look for a new job. They would like to keep him on but there is no budget at this time. He is looking for a full time job but hasn't found one yet but if he doesn't find the right one he will keep contracting. I'm kind of hoping that the next job he gets he will be able to work from home that way he will be able to get to spend more time with the baby. Pray for him and I will keep you posted on this too.
I guess this is it for today. I got to get back to work. More blogging later.
-Katie
